Exclusive! “My Transition Hours” How Femi Otedola Betrayed Jonathan

As former President Goodluck Jonathan launched his book, ” My Transition Hours,” today , a recap of what transpired during his presidency, one of his closest friends that betrayed and dumped him shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari was announced winner of 2015 presidential election was the chairman of Forte Oil, Mr Femi Otedola.

Although the former president didn’t mention Otedola in the book, it was crystal clear to the Jonathan’s kitchen cabinet that he was referring to Otedola who was so close to him when the going was good that he was always with him everywhere Jonathan went while his presidency lasted.

As if that was not enough, Otedola, according to the source was behind the travails of Allison Dezeani -Madueke, which he (Otedola) referred to as “Delilah” an euphemism for the Biblical Delilah who betrayed Samson into the hands of the Philistines which eventually led to his death.

The source said the path of Otedola might have crossed with Dezeani-Madueke when she was the minister of petroleum, while Otedola was one of the major players in the oil sector.

It was Otedola who was part of Jonathan’s kitchen cabinet that revealed all that transpired, especially in the oil sector to President Buhari’s team shortly thereafter to save his head.

It got so bad that he did not only stop going to Aso Rock Villa, where he was a prominent face, he stopped taking Jonathan’s call that the latter threatened to write a book on his “Transition Hours”.

Otedola, who according to the source, told those who cared to listen that Jonathan has ended his own tenure and he has to move on as the power has changed hands to Muhammadu Buhari. Ironically, it was Jonathan who ensured that he stay afloat after his indebtedness which led to the take-over of his company by Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON.

As the source put it, “Jonathan considered Otedola’s betrayal of his trust immediately after the election as the ‘unkindest cut’ according to the Shakespeare’s classic, “Julius Caesar” .
