National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiohmole, has said he was sure that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has hinted the opposition Peoples Democratic Party that the election will be postponed.
Speaking at the APC caucus meeting on Monday in Abuja, Oshiohmole said he was disgusted by the reasons given for the postponement by the INEC chairman, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu.
Oshiohmole, alleged that the recruitment of the Ad hoc staff in Rivers and Akwa Ibom was done with the Resident Electoral Commissioner and the PDP governors, “ tell me how would our brothers in Akwa Ibom have confidence in such process.” He said.
He, however, maintained that the INEC chairman owe the APC an explanation about the whole postponement, adding that the PDP was well briefed that the election will be postponed.
Oshiohmole noted that most of the reasons given by Prof Mahmoud such as increase in population and the size of the country were not convincing enough to warrant the postponement.
