NigeriaDecides2019:Why Tinubu Failed To Deliver 3m Votes For Buhari

The last may not have been heard about what transpired in Lagos during the presidential and national assembly elections and why the national leader of the All Progressives Congress and Co-Chair of President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Council, Bola Tinubu failed to deliver the three million votes he earlier promised.

After almost two days of collation, Tinubu’s political machinery managed to secure 580,814 for President Buhari, while the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar scored 448,016 with a margin of 132,798 votes between them.

The pictures of two bullion vans allegedly entering Tinubu’s Bourdillion residence may also be responsible for poor showing given his admonition to APC members to go and vote and be compensated later. Also, the Ambode sentiment. Quite a lot of people believe the Governor Akinwumi Ambode was muscled out of the race for his second term inspite of his modest achievements across the state.

The infighting among the Tinubu boys is also a factor. The Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola set up a different group of 5000 canvassers with Oyinlomo Danmole as the Director General.

It is also an open secret that the chairman of AMCON, Muiz Banire has fallen out of favour with Tinubu. Though, everyone was working for Buhari, but the inherent internal contradictions and the supremacy battle to outwit each other was also responsible for low turn out. Again, the battle for 2023 presidential election and emerging power blocs in Lagos and across the south west was also responsible for the poor turn out of 6.5m registered voters out of 5.5m collected their PVCs before the opening of the polls.

It was also widely reported that some non-indigene were not allowed to vote in some part of Lagos.

Hey there! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an established blog.
Is it very difficult to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast.
I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?
    Appreciate it
