Despite the concern raised by avaition experts about its safety, Nigerian leading carrier, Air Peace, says there is no plan to cancel its order for 10 Boeing 737-MAX 800 airplanes.
The airline spokesman said any decision about cancelling the order is premature.
Mr Chris Iwarah, Corporate Communications Manager, Air Peace, spoke on Monday in Lagos. He said the airline will continue to act in the interest of the safety of the flying public.
It will be recalled that China has ordered all of the country’s airlines to ground the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft following a deadly crash of Ethiopian Airlines jet of the same model. Market participants are trying to discern whether this decision on China’s part has anything to do with the on-going US-China trade negotiations.
