Says N500Bn Cash Conditional Transfer Not Properly Utilised
… Queries How $16M Mosquitoes Net Was Spent
The wife of President Muhammadu Buhari , Aisha, has taken a swipe at the social security programs of the All Progressives Congress, saying it has failed to achieve its desired results.
Speaking when some women groups paid her a courtesy visit, Aisha was emphatic that the $16m claimed to have been used to procure the mosquito nets must have been squandered.
“ I think $16m is enough to fumigate the country against mosquitoes. I didn’t get any mosquito net and I don’t know if any of you get.” She said.
On the N500Bn spent on cash conditional transfer, she maintains that only one local government out of 22 in her home state of Adamawa benefited from the program.
“ For Kano not to be part of the N500Bn cash conditional transfer program leaves much to be desire.” Aisha noted.
She,however alerted Nigerians to monitor the N12Bn approved recently for the ministry of health to build trauma centers across the country so that the money will not be squandered.
“As you know the ministers will soon be leaving and N12Bn has been approved for trauma centers across the county. You need to monitor how the money will be spent so that it won’t be mismanaged. I think the ministry of health and the minister of health should ensure that the money is judiciously spent.”She declared.
It will be recalled that Aisha has criticized the process of appointment made by her husband in 2015. She has also raised the alarm that some cabal has held President Buhari hostage
She has also lamented on the state of Aso Rock Clinic, criticizing the Medical Director that not even panadol to treat malaria was available at the clinic in spite of huge budget every year.
