Boko Haram: Borno Gov, Zulum urges residents not to flee from Gubio

….Assures of their safety

Borno state Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara, has asked residents of Gubio, a town in northern part of the state, which was recently attacked by Boko Haram to stay in their homes and not flee the town.
The residents of the town, were reported  to have planned fleeing their homes for fear of being attacked by the insurgents. 
The military were said to have tactically withdrew from the town after the last attack, and many of the residents felt there was no need staying in the town.
Addressing some of the people of Gubio on Wednesday night in Maiduguri, the Borno State Governor said the security of the town can never be comprised.
He told them to stay in their houses, noting that the relocation of troops was to re-strategise the military to confront the threat of insurgents.
He assured then that the military has not left them unprotected, but just needed to re-strategise after last Sunday attack on the town and  5 Brigade Army base in the town.
 He said that the relocation of troops from Gubio; was for the Army to re-strategise, protect more lives and property in the community.
He dismissed the insinuation that troops have already relocated from community to 145 Battalion, Damasak, 102 kilometres
from Gubio.
He re-assured the residents of their safety; noting that the Army may already be contemplating establish a super camp in the town.
