A former Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources in Lagos , Mr. Olawale Oluwo, has said the cabal in the All Progressives Congress led by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was responsible for the poor infrastructure and lack of political will to confront it headlong.
Speaking on a current affairs program monitored in Lagos on Monday, Oluwo said the party in power has monopolized everything which does not allow for fresh ideas.
He opined that there was need to clear the drainage and allow for free flow of water.
He, however, maintained that getting rid of the flood was not a rocket science, adding that all what the Governor and his team need to do is check what is working in other climes and replicate it in Lagos state.
On the level of flooding in the state which have destroyed some homes and means of some peoples livelihood, he said, “last week I drove along Hebert Macaulay and I saw a huge craters . Same thing from Mushin to Oshodi. We have never had it this bad.”
Continuing he said; “the greatest regret I had when I left office was our inability to deliver on the power project. We had the regulatory framework and legislative, but by the time the politics set in, everything was jettisoned and politics took over.
“All these are there for the government in power now to go back to Eko Disco and complete it.
On the report that he dumped Governor Ambode and provided information to indict him, Oluwo says,
“ I did not and could never have implicated Governor Akinwumi Ambode. I am a democrat, I can not served in a government and abandon it later. It was when there was conflict of interest that I had to leave the All Progressives Congress for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.”
