As earlier stated, we reiterate our maximum support for the “Operation Amotekun” being launched on 9th January, 2020 by the Governors of the six Southwestern States under the Western Nigeria Security Network(WNSN), aimed at complimenting the efforts of the nation’s security apparatus and institutions viz: Nigeria Police Force on information and intelligence sharing, as well as curbing the excesses of dreaded armed bandits and criminals ravaging and causing unmitigated atrocities such as kidnapping, cultism, rape, highway robbery to mention a few in Yoruba Land in the recent times.
However, we call on President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail on the Minister of Justuce Mr Abubakar Malami SAN to reverse his earlier declaration of Amotekun as illegal with a caveat to enter into a detailed dialogue on how best the Federal Government shall grant the security scheme the enabling supports and further discuss way forward with the Southwest Governors so as to jointly build a Nigeria of our dream.
Ajuwa Se Ooo.
