Oluwo’s Royal Rumbles, A Test Of Integrity For Gov Oyetola
By Akanfe Olugbenga
A concerned Yoruba son, Akanfe Olugbenga Diamond, has written an open letter to Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, urging him to react to the tussle between Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdurasheed Akanbi and his fellow monarch, Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa, Oba Akinropo.
Akanfe described the development as a “test of integrity” for the governor and asked him to make his stand known to the world on the royal rumbles.
Here is the full detail of the open letter.
Ogbeni Gboyega Oyetola,
STILL ON THE ROYAL SLAP, OLUWO Vs AGBOWU
Greetings. Barely 24hours after peace meeting turned physical confrontation at the office of AIG Zone XI, Mr. Bashir Makama, on land dispute between the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adewale Akanbi and other neighbouring traditional rulers to Iwo Land, which has the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs and Commissioner for Land as the representatives of the Government at the meeting. I expect that, you must have been briefed the A-Z of the scenario that played out through the Commissioners on how Oluwo of Iwo reportedly slapped his co- Oba, HRH Agbowu of Ogbaagba. Ditto security report from the office of the AIG Zone XI.
It is feasible to the blind to see and loud enough for the deaf to hear that Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adewale Akanbi is an unrepentant chieftain of All Progressives Congress in the State. The role he played far before, prior your emergence as the Executive Governor and aftermath especially in Iwo axis are enough reasons for the world to believe that he belongs to APC. Be that at it may, Mr Governor, the assignment before you now is a serious INTEGRITY TEST. The world is waiting to know your stand over the fracas as the Oba of all Obas in the State. The world is waiting whether you will allow Agbowu of Ogbaagba to suffer in the hand of Oluwo in vain because Oluwo mostly acts as your close aide. The world is waiting whether you will be a leading apostle to restore sanity and core values of Yoruba culture to the fold of the traditional rulers in the State and Yoruba nation at large.
Mr. Governor, the world is waiting.
AKANFE Olugbenga Diamond,
Concerned Yoruba Son
