Alleged Rift In Ekiti Traditional Council: Alaafin Writes Fayemi ..Says “Hierarchy And Seniority Are Of Vital Consideration In Position Placement”
Alaafin of Oyo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 2, has intervened in the crisis that is tearing the Ekiti Traditional Council apart over chairmanship.
In a letter dated 12 March, 2020 on behalf of other paramount traditional rulers in Yoruba land, Alaafin drew the attention of Governor Kayode Fayemi to the fact that the chairmanship of Ekiti Obas has always rotates among the 16 Pelupelu Obas in Ekiti to the admiration of other Yoruba kingdom.
The revered monarch also maintains that the issue of hierarchy and seniority are of vital consideration in position placement.
This is coming of the heels of the dethronement of Emir of Kano, Mohammed Sanusi Lamido 11, by Governor Abdulahi Ganduje.
