Above The Law! Despite Total Lockdown, Ogun State Govt Exempts Dangote Trucks

Despite the total lockdown across Lagos , Ogun and Federal Capital Territory FCT, to contain and prevent the spread of coronavirus, as declared by President Muhammadu Buhari, the richest man in Africa has been exempted from the ban. His trucks, according to the memo from the office of the Secretary to the State Government exempted Dangote trucks.

According to the memo sighted by Newsnow and signed by Tokunbo Alabi directed to those who may be concerned and all security agencies operating in the Gateway state to allow Dangote trucks free access.

“Such gesture is the sort of nonsense that makes all public servants look like lackeys of Aliko Dangote and dents Aliko’s image.” By the memo, he can go on distributing his pasta and food unhindered, while his competitors such as Flour Mills, Honeywell, Unilevers, etc. look on.

What the memo implied is that Dangote is above the law and can continue supplying cement,  while Larfarge Holding,  BUA and others look on.

As a source who craves anonymity said, “These government officials have no self-respect.  From Emefiele, to ministers and governors, they lick the boot of Dangote and are ready to do his bidding no matter whose ox is gored.

“And we are supposed to be impressed by some token donation by Dangote. So, why should anybody comply with the lockdown?” He queried.
