General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed that ninety percent of his prayers is on thanking God for His mercy towards him.
The revered clergy who was on Instagram live interview with one of his sons in the Lord, Pastor Poju Oyemade, founder of The Covenant Nation, aka, Christian Covenant Centre, on Thursday maintains that he derived this from the Yoruba proverbs that says “ If a child is grateful for a gift received, he receives another one”.
The program with the theme; “ 7 Significant Questions With Pastor E A Adeboye,” dealt with wade range issues on Christians ethics and church growth.
Adeboye explained that God has been so good to him that even if He doesn’t do anything again in his life, he will continue to praise Him.
On the secret of his ministration, Adeboye said adequate preparation is very important. “ Once you spend quality time with the Father in private to seek His face, it’s certain that He will perform when you mount His pulpit in public.”
On his advice for young ministers and what has kept RCCG going, Adeboye says, it’s leadership by example. “ If you lead by example, others will follow you. For instance, before I encourage my sons and daughters to fast and pray, I would have done it myself. In RCCG, we are a big family and we respect hierarchy and hardwork so as to encourage those coming behind to put in their best.
Adeboye opined that the attitude of young Christians nowadays leaves much to be desired.
He said, “ In those days, it’s the second coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that kept us going and strong in the Lord, but nowadays, Christians tend to forget that Jesus may come anytime soon than expected.”
Responding to what can help the young ministers, he said; “Holiness without which no one will see the Lord is the key. Holiness should be our central focus because it’s the condition precedent to making heaven.”
