General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said he was highly favored to be made a pastor barely two years after he joined the ministry.
Speaking at the Holy Ghost Congress, a monthly program of the RCCG, on the theme, “Let There Be Light 6”, at the Redemption Camp, along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway on Friday, Pastor Adeboye said he was highly favored.
He admonished worshippers to always pray to locate their destiny helpers that will help them fulfill their destiny.
He, however, explained that he enjoyed special favour from God through the founder of the RCCG, Rev Josiah Akindayomi, who broke all the rules in the ministry to ordain him a pastor, barely two years after he joined the ministry.
According to him, there was a lot of hoopla about me being ordained because at that time, you must have spent some years after being born again before you become a pastor.
“In fact, when I was ordained in 1975, some of my colleagues that we were ordained at the same time have spent 15 years in RCCG.” He said.
The revered clergy said Rev Akindayomi was his destiny helper.
“He wanted me to be what God wanted me to be. He was my destiny helper. The person who was ordained with me had spent 15 years in RCCG. I became born again in 1973 and was ordained a pastor in 1975, barely two years after I was born again. It has never happened before in RCCG. He (Akindayomi) got the vision of his successor in Israel. And God told him to ordain me when he returns preparatory to the mandate ahead of me. I also had the revelation, but I said over my dead body. I was reluctant.” He said.
