NSCDC Declares Total War On Boko Haram Logistics Suppliers

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has declared total war against Boko Haram logistics suppliers.

The NSCDC said the clampdown becomes imperative following the new upsurge of Boko Haram attacks on the troubled state of Borno.

ThisDay report that the insurgents who have been on the prowl in the last one week, killed 81 persons at a village in Borno on Tuesday in a daylight raid.

Addressing journalists at the parade of arrested suspects in Maiduguri on Thursday, the NSCDC Commandant in the State, Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi said all Boko Haram terrorists logistics suppliers are going to be clampdown on to curtail rising attacks of insurgents in Borno State. 

Abdullahi noted that it has become necessary to strangulate the economic base of the insurgents following recent  upsurge of attacks in some Borno communities. 

He said before the present arrest, the command in this year alone, arrested two other terrorists’ logistics suppliers who were handed over to the Nigerian Military. 

Abdullahi while parading the suspects, said:” On the 9th of June this year, at about 10am , at Muna Garage along Gamboru Ngala road, one 35 year old Bukar Ibrahim , a driver was arrested with Peugeot 504 dark ash colour with registration plate number, JJN770BZ concealed with 24 Jerrycans  of 25 litres each of premium motor spirit ( PMS ).

“Other items found with him are 7 cartons of traditional medicine, 10 bags of fishing hooks and nets, one packet of herbal medicine and 25 packet of fishing nets and sex enhancing herb suspected to be supplied to the Boko Haram terrorists.”

He revealed that: “From our interaction with the suspect , he is giving useful information. We already have a link way. He mentioned some names in Gamboru and also in Dikwa.  We don’t want to preempt investigation, we are going to pick them one after the other.”

He however sought the cooperation of the National Union of Road Transport Workers ( NURTW ), as well as petrol station operators, to put an end to the dastardly acts of the Boko Haram collaborators .

Other suspects paraded include one Bashir Abdulrahman who was arrested along Monguno road with mattresses  donated by UNHCR; Mohammad Mohammed of Ruwan Zafi Custom area of Maiduguri, arrested with a vandalized roles of aluminum conductor cables concealed inside six bags of dry beans chaff in a Golf car.

Also paraded among many other suspects is Ahmed Abdulfatai who was arrested for defrauding one Abba Adam of N620,000 .
