This is not the best of time for the ruling All Progressives Congress as the battle for who should be the acting chairman after the court of appeal suspended Adams Oshiohmole continues on Thursday between Oshiohmole group and faction loyal to Mr Victor Giadom.
Two court orders have been secured by the Giadom’s faction to make him the acting chairman for two weeks and to also make Salihu Mustapha the acting national secretary for two weeks pending the meeting of the national executive committee of the Party.
Mr Hilliard Etta, who says he’s acting for Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who is indisposed while featuring on current affairs program monitored in Lagos on Thursday said some people are bent on destroying the party.
Though, he didn’t mention any name, but since Giadom faction is very close to Transportation Minister, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, Etta seems to be inferring that Giadom is a front for a group working to destroy the APC from within and form another party.
Etta stated that since Giadom was nominated as the Deputy governorship candidate in Rivers state in 2019 general election, he was deemed to have left his deputy national secretary office.
Now, with the two court orders, the battle of who acts in place of a suspended Oshiohmole may have just begun as the two factions move to take over the party headquarters office pending the decision of the NEC.
