Edo @ 29: We Instituted Reform In All Sectors—Edo Deputy Gov

Edo Deputy Gov Philip Shaibu

As Edo State marks its 29th anniversary, the Deputy Governor of the State, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has joined the Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, in hailing the people of the state for their steadfastness and tenacity in moving the state to a new level.

According to him, every sector of the state has been well impacted. At 29, Edo have reason to celebrate.

“In terms of Education Edo has never had it so good. The Health sector has witnessed comprehensive change from the analogue system of operation to digital health care.

“We have offered world class ease of doing business which has made Edo State the preferred destination for investors. Human capital development has become a way of life of the incumbent administration.

“The public and civil service that was once unproductive has been given a fresh breath. We have moved away from where we had been and though we may not have gotten to where we are aiming to be, we are very confident of getting there  and that is why we are seeking for reelection to move the State forward.

“We have offered purposeful and selfless leadership. In the last few years we have stabilized the economy of the state by building strong institutions rather than powerful individuals.

“We have integrated the rural and urban communities in the state, through infrastructural development and extended opportunities to those that were previously cut off from governance,” Comrade Shaibu declared.

In his good will message, issued by his Senior Special Assistant on media, Mr. Benjamin Atu,  to mark the 29th anniversary of the creation of the state and acknowledge the support of the people for their administration, the Deputy Governor said the Obaseki administration has confronted the nagging socio-economic challenges that were inherited from the previous administration and has set the state on the path of progress.

While calling on the people of the state to rally round the current administration, Comrade Shaibu said the APC governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-iyamu should be rejected in the forthcoming September Governorship election, because he has surrounded himself with oldies, tired and over recycled individuals, who have been rejected at the National level and who are the creators of the economic woes and challenges that the state has been battling with.

He maintained that at 29, Edo State has made remarkable progress.

According to him: “The issue of human trafficking that almost tore the state apart has become a thing of the past in Edo State, through the proactive measures put in place by  the Obaseki administration, by addressing the issue of joblessness that heightened the rate of human trafficking.

“Today, we have made Edo State more attractive and our youth are returning home to invest rather than seeking their fortunes abroad.

“We will continue to impact more lives and create better opportunities and expand the political space for greater participation of our people when reelected at the September 19th Governorship election,” the deputy Governor assured.
