General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Monday visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
Although the reason for the meeting was not made public , it may not be unconnected with the recently signed CAMA 2020 Act.
Adeboye who was accompanied by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to meet Buhari did not brief the state House Correspondents after the meeting.
It will be recalled that the newly signed Company and Allied Matters Act 2020 had generated controversy over the section in the act that prescribes suspension for any trustees found wanting.
The offensive section which has been widely condemned by the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, the presiding bishop of Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo amongst others may be the reason behind Adeboye’s visit having voiced out his resentment for the same section.
Osinbajo during the recently concluded Nigeria Bar Association conference had advised church leaders who are aggrieved by the section to lobby the national assembly for an amendment.
