Akitoye, Dosumu, Oyekan Royal Families Condemn Hoodlums Invasion Of Oba’s Palace

The Royal Families of Akitoye, Dosumu and Oyekan have condemned unequivocally the desecration and violation of the Iga Idunganran, the official residence of Oba of Lagos situated at Isale-Eko by hoodlums on Wednesday, 21st October 2020.

In a press statement jointly issued on behalf of the princes and princesses of the three royal families said they are shocked beyond words that an historical and traditional abode would be gleefully attacked and videos of same posted on the social media. 

The statement read in parts, “We hereby state categorically that perpetrators of this dastardly act be investigated and brought to book.

“We pray that God Almighty will continue to protect our father, Kabiyesi Oba Rilwan Aremu Akiolu and the Oloris at this trying times when the entire citizens of Lagos are mourning the hijack and destruction of our dear Lagos State.

“We also use this medium to commiserate with all those who have lost loved ones and properties at this period, our hearts go to victims of the Lekki Toll gate mayhem which occurred on Tuesday, 20 – 10- 2020 in Lagos. God will soothe our collective pains and our stars will shine again.

“We pray for divine intervention and wisdom for our leaders at this time, may the Governor, his deputy and all those at the helm of affairs be properly guided and directed by God Almighty.

“May God continue to make Lagos the Centre of Excellence and we are sure that our ancestors will not sleep, as we hope to rise above these dark hours. Together we shall build a greater Lagos, we are resilient people and this period would soon be behind us by God’s grace.”
