2023: Arewa Group Supports Fayemi/El-Rufai Candidacy

Fayemi, Tinubu & El-Rufai

“It was a carefully planned arrangement that started even before the 2019 election. In fact , during the xenophobic attack against Nigeria in South Africa when the country was contemplating sanctions and other measures to rein in the South African government, Fayemi and El-Rufai were in one of the cities under the cover of a program where they met with a Nigerian international journalist and Pulitzer Award winner, Dele Olojede, where the details of the publicity and when to commence was fully discussed”

While Political Parties have already began making arrangements over who will lead their respective parties in the conduct of the next presidential election in Nigeria which is scheduled for the year 2023, there’s been various permutations to these effect on both sides.

Already, the Arewa group have pitched their tent with the Candidacy of the Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi and the Kaduna State Governor El-Rufai to lead the All Progressives Congress in the next Presidential election in Nigeria.

Party chieftains and Powerful Forces within the Presidency were reported to have picked Kayode Fayemi to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari

It’s gathered that Governor Kayode Fayemi was in Kaduna at the Arewa’ s meeting yesterday, 31st of October 2020 where this was further discussed.

Those who are familiar with the whole arrangement said the fact that Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar 111, declared that Fayemi is an adopted son speaks volumes in the whole arrangement.

The plan has been on for a while according to a source who’s privy to the plan. He said; “ It was a carefully planned arrangement that started even before the 2019 election. In fact , during the xenophobic attack against Nigeria in South Africa when the country was contemplating sanctions and other measures to rein in the South African government, Fayemi and El-Rufai were in one of the cities under the cover of a program where they met with a Nigerian international journalist and Pulitzer Award winner, Dele Olojede, where the details of the publicity and when to commence was fully discussed.”

Those in the know also said that part of the elaborate plan was the emergence of Fayemi as the Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, which was seamless. He was nominated by El-Rufai and returned unopposed by his colleagues.

According to the report, this development is said to have raised eyebrows in the camp of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who are visibly not happy with the plan of the Arewa group.

Elders in the Afenifere, it was gathered  were pushing for a young candidate to support in the 2023 presidential election

The recent ENDSARS event which happened in Lagos State is said to have put a big blemish on ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It’s also reported that the Tinubu group May resort to a plan B which will see to the formation of a Regional Party come 2023. This they intend to use to negotiate terms to their favor come 2023.

Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party are said to be looking forward to having a Tambuwal or Atiku Candidacy to carry the party’s flag in the next Presidential election as they intend to retain popular support in the North.

Some Yoruba Elders have been reported to be playing along with the plan while they hope that either a sitting Governor or an Ex-Governor will fly the Party’s Flag in the Presidential Election
