COVID-19: Niger Gov, Sani Bello Begins Self Isolation

 Amid the warning by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) that Nigeria may experience a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has tested positive for COVID-19. reports that the governor, who made the disclosure on Monday, November 9, via his Twitter account, said he had since gone into self-isolation.

Source: Twitter He tweeted: “Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Governor Sani Bello who revealed the news today said the result of his latest test came back positive and he had consequently proceeded on self-isolation.” 

It was reported that the NCDC director-general, Chikwe Ihekweazu, made this known on Monday, November 9, at a media briefing with reporters organised by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The DG said in order for Nigeria to avoid the second wave of the virus, Nigerians must abide by the protocols and guidelines developed. In another report, Nigeria recorded 223 cases of the novel coronavirus pandemic on Friday, November 6.
