As the intrigue of who will be the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, begins to unfold, a group, South West Agenda for Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to meet on Tuesday in Ibadan to finetune its strategy ahead of 2023.
“We on behalf of SWAGA’23 are glad to welcome you to Ibadan as part of this great family as we begin the journey to the realization of our 2023 goal”
The copy of the invite signed by former senator representing Ekiti south, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, inviting the former speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji for the meeting was sighted by Newsnow.
It will be recalled that since the NWC led by former governor of Edo state, Comrade Adams Oshiohmole was dissolved, the National Executive Council meeting held last Tuesday by the APC, according to sources within the party was meant to further weaken the hold of Tinubu on the APC ahead of 2023.
All the party exco from the wards to the zonal level were dissolved before the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo warned of the dire consequence of such action. Though, the dissolution was converted to caretaker arrangement whereby the same exco will serve as caretaker, a move was afoot by some governors who wanted to maintain its hold on the party to continue. Hillard Etta, a former acting chairman and member of Oshiohmole led NWC was expelled, while the Mai Mala Buni caretaker committee was given another six months to organize a convention.
The fall out from the Tuesday NEC meeting held at the Aso Rock Villa may have necessitated the Ibadan meeting.
