The Lead Visioner of Lagos4Lagos initiative, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor seems to have set the pace for the APC caretaker committee in Lagos state.
Adediran who would soon begin the tour of the 377 wards in the state to further entrench his group has also inaugurated registration committees across the 245 political wards in the state to make the exercise seamless for his members when it kicks off on January 25.
As if responding to Jandor’s initiative the APC caretaker committee is now working to set up committee for similar process in the State.
Tunde Balogun, APC caretaker chairman in Lagos state has secretly directed that all the local governments in the state Inaugurate a committee similar to Lagos4Lagos initiative.
Jandor while inaugurating the committee recently enjoined the people of Lagos state to take advantage of this process to start afresh, by registering enmasse to be the decision makers of the ruling APC in Lagos state as against what is obtainable currently.
“The registration/revalidation process is a restart button we should all take advantage of by taking ownership of the party in our numbers”, he added.
The Mai-Mala Buni led party’s Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), had announced that the registration/revalidation would commence on Monday, January 25.
The newly inaugurated members of the state committee are spread across the Ikorodu, Epe, Ikeja, Lagos , and Badagry divisions.
The compliance committee which is the apex body of the registration committee is headed by Jandor himself and supported by Hon. Bode Makinde (Ojo LG), Funke Ijayekunle (Somolu LG), Seun Soyinka (Secretariat) , Khairat Ojikutu-Shokoya ( Ikeja LG) and Hon. Olufemi Musa (Ojo LG).
According to him, the street captains, polling units and wards committee would be inaugurated in the next 48 – hour.
Jandor’s inauguration of the membership registration/ revalidation may have caught the Tunde Balogun exco unawares—hence the need to set up similar committee.
It will be recalled that the national leader of the APC and former governor of Lagos, Mr. Bola Tinubu gave Balogun a marching order after the poor performance of the APC in the 2019 presidential/national assembly election in the state.
