Exclusive: Oshodi APC Vice- Chairman, Daisi Oso Steps Down For Oluomo’s Candidate, Kehinde Almaroof…..Says My Ambition Is Not Worth The Pint Of Blood Of An Innocent Party Member In Oshodi

Vice chairman of Oshodi local government and an aspirant to the position of the All Progressives Congress chairmanship in the forthcoming July 24 election, Daisi Oso, has stepped down for Mr. Kehinde Almaroof, the candidate of the chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW, Lagos chapter, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka Oluomo.

In a lengthy letter co-signed by the Lagos state commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, Oso maintained that the national leader of the APC , Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has prevailed on him to step down for Almaroof in order for peace to reign in the council area.

He, however, appealed to his teeming supporters to be calm, Take heart and have the belief that he who fights and steps aside, lives to gain another day.

Below is the full text of the letter

In view of the volatile situation pervading the polity of Oshodi Local Government concerning the coming All Progressives Congress primary coming up tomorrow, Saturday 29th of May, 2021;  the leadership of our party has prevailed on Hon. Daisi Oso, the current Vice Chairman of the Local Government Council and a leading Aspirant for the Chairmanship position, to stepdown his ambition in the interest of peace and progress of Oshodi.

We have looked at Oshodi of the past in the era where might was right; and having taken our time to build our Oshodi over the last 21 years back to this height of peaceful politics, we feel the ambition of Hon. Daisi Oso is not worth more than the lives of our people in Oshodi and the progress of our great party, the APC. With all these and the intervention of note by someone whom God has used to stabilize not only Oshodi politics, but that of Lagos State and Nigeria at large, his intervention necessitated us meeting with Daisi Oso and other stakeholders for him to stepdown his ambition for his ambition is not worth even a pint of blood of an innocent party member in Oshodi.

Therefore, based on the intervention of our leader of note, Hon. Daisi Oso has graciously agreed to stepdown. In his own word, he said “based on this intervention, I have to pay the supreme sacrifice to step down from the race”. He has also graciously agreed to co-sign this statement with me.

With this, we want to appeal to our teeming supporters to keep calm, take heart and have the belief that he who fights and steps aside, lives to gain another day.

Thank you all and God bless.

Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai.

Hon. Commissioner for Housing,

Lagos State.

Hon. Daisi Oso.

Vice Chairman,

Oshodi / Isolo Local Government; and

Chairmanship Aspirant.
