Since the rounds of backlash on the news media and other social media platform on the person of Pastor Tunde Bakare concerning the state of the nation, the serving overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), Oregun, Lagos, has not failed to defend or exonerate himself from the failures of President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration despite his involvement in the enthronement of President Buhari as the 15th president of Nigeria. Nevertheless, Bakare, has not failed to stress his unflinching love and support for Buhari and his administration.
In his 2021 Father’s Day Sunday message titled ‘Biblical principles governing warfare’, Bakare stated that there is no need to be afraid of the enemies, in this case, the enemies of Nigeria and that of God can use his ‘unusual vessels’ to defeat those that has brought Nigeria to her present state. In his words, the earth will vomit and swallow them up.
Bakare, who also agreed that the errors of the Buhari’s led government has brought terror upon Nigerians, lamented the death of the late Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Lt. General Attahiru Ibrahim, alongside ten other senior officers and crew members on Friday May 21, 2021. He said the full wrath of God will be on anyone who has hands in the death of the gallant military men and without mincing words, quoting from the scriptures, he added that ‘’perpetrators of injustice will violently perish’’ and that ‘’there will be rain of ruin on the fortress of the wicked in our land.’’
He continued that until the heart of our leaders touches the ground to say ‘Kabiyesi’ to the Lord, the commanded judgment of the Lord will not stop because Nigeria has become a land filled with the blood of men. But for the sake of His children, God will have mercy, he optimistically added.
It is the cleric’s believe that those in government are the real enemies of Nigeria because according to him, ‘’they are perverts pretending to be patriots.’’ He grieved that a government that does not know God has arisen in our land. “They talk loose. They are heart hardened like Pharaoh” Bakare stressed. The political preacher believed that those who are supposed to be leading us hate us. They hate this nation, he added. He therefore opined that the salvation of the country is not in the hands of the government, armed forces or any civil organization but the need for a movement that will paralyze the enemy, a movement of Nigerians for Nigeria which he tagged #N4N movement. Adding that those who have caused havoc in this country will no longer have access to power.
On his twitter page today, Bakare said, “Fear is contagious. Faith is contagious! On the battlefield, which do you want to be infected by? #N4N movement (Nigerians for Nigeria Movement)
In addition, Pastor Tunde Bakare said, the Nigerians for Nigeria movement (#N4N movement) is not a parallel government but a movement that will support the growth of Nigeria. He stressed that “to make Nigeria one, justice must be done.”
He, however, argued that it is because there is no justice in the land that is why different groups like the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the crave for a Yoruba (Oduduwa) nation championed by Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, and other groups are springing up in the country. He said the reason for all this is because God wants to show Himself as the one who is in charge.
Bakare also bemoaned the current state of Nigeria’s currency of N500 to $1 which he said was in the 1970s, N1 to $1,8c. He is nonetheless optimistic that the labour of our heroes and heroines past will not be in vain and that the present recession will soon result in abundance. “Those who have swallowed up our resources and common patrimony will vomit them”, he added.
However, it is Pastor Tunde Bakare’s believe that God will heal our land and that Nigeria will flourish again. The serving overseer of CGCC has nevertheless, not failed in convincing his listeners (congregation) and himself that he is the 16th president.
