Crossfire! El-Rufai Dares NLC Over Sack Of 30,000 Workers

…Says Nobody Will Dictate To Me How To Run Kaduna

Governor Ahmad el-Rufai may have called the bluff of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, over the strike embarked upon to force him to rescind his decision after he sacked over 30,000 workers in Kaduna state.

El-Rufai, who recently sacked 99 of his aides said he’s ready to confront the NLC and will not succumb to their blackmail how to govern the state in the midst of dwindling economic returns.

The Governor said spending the huge part of the state resources to pay civil servants is no longer sustainable.

The NLC President, Ayuba Wabba said at a press conference yesterday that Labour will resume the protest because El-Rufai has refused bluntly to accede to any of the agreement reached at the meeting brokered  by the federal government between the Kaduna state government and the Labour.

Wabba also hinted that the governor has started persecuting some of the Labour leaders in Kaduna for their effrontery to confront him.

He said one of the Labour leaders in the state has been transferred to the remotest part of the state where Bandits are running riots, thereby putting her life at a risk.

It will be recalled that the federal government through the office of the minister of Labour and employment, Dr. Chris Ngige empaneled a committee to wade into the Kaduna/Labour Face off from further degeneration into an unrest.
