The early morning downpour in Abuja yesterday disrupted the sitting at the senate as the roof of the national assembly building caved in to the heavy rain.
Staff were seen scooping the water out of the assembly complex.
The national assembly had in 2020 budgeted N35billion for the renovation of the complex.
The criticisms that greeted the humongous amount and the paucity of funds because of COVID-19 pandemic may have stalled the renovation.
Meanwhile, the senate has called upon the Federal Capital Development Agency, FCDA, to renovate the assembly complex.
