The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has apologized to airline operators and passengers over the poor facilities at the Murtala Muhamed International Airport, Lagos.
FAAN In a statement by its General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, said it was due to the upgrade of facilities at the airport.
A passenger who was at the airport today to board aircraft to Abuja, however called out the minister of aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika for abandoning his duty and concentrate more on his political ambition to succeed Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina.
He said, “It’s day 24 of manual flight operations at the Lagos International Airport @hadisirika, honourable Minister of Aviation. We’re writing boarding passes and bag tags in 2021. Are we back to the 70s? Yet, this is what is priority for this man!!! May God help Nigeria!”

MMIA FACILITIES CHALLENGE; FAAN CALLS FOR UNDERSTANDING
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria hereby appeals to airlines, passengers and all other stakeholders at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos to please bear with the Authority as some facilities at the airport are functioning below capacity due to system upgrade challenges, thereby slowing the pace of passenger facilitation.
While the Authority is doing everything possible to commission the brand new international terminal in Lagos as soon as possible to reduce the stress on our customers, we are also working assiduously to ensure that the aged equipment/facilities at the old terminal are maintained in optimal working Conditions
Please do bear with us.!
FAAN….. Committed to her core values of Safety, Security and Comfort.
Henrietta Yakubu (Mrs.)
General Manager, Corporate Affairs
