The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has marched on the national assembly to protest the appointment of Lauretta Onochie, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media as Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC.
Leading the protest on Wednesday in Abuja was the national chairman of the PDP , Prince Uche Secondus and other PDP stalwarts.
Receiving the protest letter, Senate minority leader, Eyinnanya Abaribe, who promised that justice will be done on the issue.
Also, Sokoto state Governor and chairman of PDP governors forum, Aminu Tambuwal said appointing a partisan person such as Lauretta will erode all the gains of the INEC as independent and impartial umpire.
It will be recalled that there has been uproar when Lauretta was first nominated six months ago into the INEC as REC.
