The chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kaduna state chapter, Rev, John Hayab, has blamed Governor Nazir El-Rufai for the spate of kidnapping in the state.
Rev. Hayab said Despite the insistence of Governor El- Rufai that the state will not pay ransom, no concrete steps have been taken to stop the ugly trend.
He said, “ apart from rhetorics , nothing concrete has been done by the state government and that is why the bandits are having a field day. That’s why they are asking for foodstuff to feed the abducted children.
“ The expression of concern by the governor is not enough. The bandits are not on the run. The state should go after them.”
Hayab whose 16-year-Old Son, Sunday escaped from the bandits by whiskers, said most of what his son told him is so horrific that it can not be said on national television.
The CAN chairman urged governor El-Rufai to face the security issues affecting the state squarely, instead of branding those criticizing him for not doing enough as been sponsored or PDP agents.
Kaduna state government given the update about the spate of kidnappings in the state yesterday , said that 222 people have been killed and 774 kidnapped in the last three months.
