A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kashim Ibrahim- Imam has said that the idea of having an Igbo presidential candidate on the platform of the party in 2023 is almost impossible.
He also ruled out the possibility of having a south south presidential candidate because both the south east and south south are not the core areas for the APC.
Speaking on Arise tv program, The Morning Show, monitored in Lagos on Monday , he said until the south east is ready it will be difficult to have any of their men as presidential candidate.
“ The north, yes, the south west, yes, but the south east and south south are not our core areas now. Let’s wait until they are ready and that’s why we are talking to them.”
On the PDP Governors that would join the APC soon, Kashim said it will not be fair to mention their names until talks are finalized.
He, however, said the next big shot is the former governor of Oyo state, Alhaji Rasheed Ladoja that will soon move to the APC .
Kashim said he has also extended invitation openly to the Rivers state Governor, Nyesome Wike to come and join the APC when he was on assignment to the state.
