The chairman of the Lagos state Caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Tunde Balogun has been suspended for alleged gross misconduct and insubordination.
Newsnowonline learnt that Balogun who has been under the radar of the CECPC for a while now over the conduct of last local government election which he allegedly bungled and the just concluded ward congress was suspended for gross misconduct and insubordination.
The CECPC had to set up an appeal committee to investigate the petition of Lagos4Lagos Movement and three other groups after the ward congress.
It will be recalled that Lagos4Lagos group conducted parallel congress across the 245 wards in the state and the results was received by the CECPC with documentary evidences and petition.
This may have spurred the CECPC Into Investigation and it was discovered that Mr. Balogun apart from allegedly collecting huge sums of money to field chairmanship candidates with fake WAEC results in his Apapa Local Government and other Councils refused to listen to other stakeholders in resolution of the disputes which had now become litigation, thereby threatening the chances of the APC in Council areas it has won convincingly during the local government election.
The suspension of Mr Balogun is coming ahead of the local government congress across the state tomorrow.
Attempts to get the reaction of Mr. Balogun before filling this report was unsuccessful.
