Ikorodu Agog For Lagos4Lagos As Group Holds Interactive Parley, Gets Support From League Of Imams

In continuation of it’s interactive and sensitization campaigns across the five divisions in Lagos State, the Lagos4Lagos Movement has held its interactive session with members of the movement and party faithfuls in Ikorodu on the 11th of September, 2021.

The event, which climaxed the Lead Visioner, Lagos4Lagos, Dr. Olajide Adediran’s 2-day working visit to Ikorodu, was greeted by a tulmotous crowd of APC party faithfuls, residents and members of the movement in Ikorodu Division, who thronged the venue amidst pomp and pageantry.

Speaking at the event, Divisional Co-ordinator, Lagos4Lagos, Ikorodu Division, Prince Alashe Adekunle-Alesh, commended the efforts of leaders and members of the movement in making the Division a strong force within the Lagos4Lagos family. 

On his part,  the Principal Coordinator, Lagos4Lagos Movement, Benson Olabode Makinde thanked members of the movement for their steadfastness.

Also speaking at the event, former Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Princess Aderenle Ogunsanya urged Ikorodu residents and party faithfuls, to support the movement noting that her resolve to join the movement was borne out of the demonstration of courage and bravery shown by the symbol of struggle, Jandor.

In his remarks, Lead Visioner, Lagos4Lagos movement, Dr. Olajide Adediran expressed  satisfaction with the progress made by the movement across the state noting that the outcome of the recently held congress was a pointer to its strength within the Lagos APC.

While urging the people to remain steadfast and resolute, he charged them to get their Personal Voting Cards(PVCs) in readiness for the task ahead.

In a related development, the aspiration of the Lead Visioner, Lagos4Lagos Movement, Dr. Abdul-azeez Olajide Adediran(Jandor) received the blessings and support of the League of Imams in the Ikorodu Division. The august occasion, which was witnessed by many residents, party faithfuls and the moslem community in Ikorodu, follows the recent endorsement of the APC party stalwart by traditional rulers in Alimosho Local Government. 

Welcoming Dr. Adediran to a gathering which included Imams of all the six LCDAs in Ikorodu, the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division, Sheikh Sheifudeen Ahinla Olowooribi noted that the unprecedented support was borne out of the moslem community’s recognition of Jandor’s love for the people and absolute belief in the Almighty.

Commending Dr. Adediran for his decision to pursue the Lagos4Lagos movement, Sheikh Olowoobori averred that Lagos is pivotal to the development and survival of Nigeria. The Imams assured Dr. Adediran of their moral and spiritual support. Thereafter, prayers were offered for the progress of the state and the country.

In his remarks, Dr. Adediran explained that his decision to put his hat into the political ring in Lagos came after a thorough analysis of the potentials of Lagos and what the state currently gets in terms of governance and development.

While appreciating the support of the Imams, the APC stalwart noted that the traditional and religious institutions play big roles in the society because of their closeness to the grassroots. He further explained that the Lagos4Lagos movement is a mass-based movement of Lagos residents beyond creed, class, religion and ethnicity.In his words: “The idea behind Lagos4Lagos is to ensure that the fortunes of Lagos work for all residents of Lagos and not just a single individual. This can only happen if the Governor is chosen freely by the people. We want to seek our mandate from the people. We are excited about the acceptance across different spheres and we do not take it for granted”. 

Earlier, Dr. Adediran was at the Oriwu Central Mosque, where he joined other moselm faithfuls for the Juma’at prayers.
