Ethnic Nationalities Demand Immediate Sack And Prosecution Of CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele

Ethnic Nationalities Demand Immediate Sack and Prosecution of CBN Governor, Emefiele.

Disturbed by the deteriorating economic situation in the country, mostly occasioned by the now dangerously misguided policies of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and most pathetically an unprecedented fall of our currency, the Naira in the foreign exchange market, the joint Committee of the Arewa Youth Assembly and the Yoruba Youth Assembly is demanding for an immediate sack, investigation and prosecution of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele.

This call is coming again, as we can no longer fold our arms and allow the incompetent management of the Central Bank, led by Mr Godwin Emefiele, to completely cripple the nation’s economy, foreign investment and ultimately send our people to untimely graves, as a result of the hardship, that Nigerians now face, due to the gross incompetence of Mr Emefiele.

It is on record, that despite the gross mismanagement of the CBN and its economic policies, the administration of Mr Emefiele has also become notorious, for numerous corrupt practices, which time now demand, for the proper investigation, of Mr Emefiele and his accomplices, including the purported loss of the over N500b, stolen from the Central Bank of Nigeria towards the end of 2018 in a private Dubai investment that went sour.

It is also on record that Mr Emefiele has become known for his excesses to decide and act on financial matters without recourse to due process, thereby arbitrarily embarking on financial policies, programmes and activities which are often time not in line with the aspiration of Nigerians and programs of the Federal Government.

At this juncture, we are asking President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack Mr Godwin Emefiele as the CBN Governor, while ordering an immediate investigation into his tenure, as the head of Nigeria’s Central Bank.

Our country cannot continue to be led by characters like Mr Emefiele who are insensitive to the plight of the suffering masses and are busy corruptly enriching themselves and their cronies, while also covering up their perfidious tracks, using their privilege positions.

We also want to challenge the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offenses Commission ICPC and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, to save Nigerians, from the economic saboteurs led by Mr Emefiele, before it is too late.

Therefore, we call for the immediate resignation and arrest of Mr Godwin Emefiele.

Onward together.

In Solidarity.
