Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state has put a lie to Femi Fani-Kayode’s assertion that he was instrumental to his movement to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Speaking on a current affairs program, Sunrise Daily monitored in Lagos on Friday, Umahi says he takes exception to such statement.
He said, “ I think Fani-Kayode needs to withdraw that statement. He was never part of my movement to the APC and it’s an insult on me and other governors. Yes, he came to me to say that he would join the APC, but he was never part of the discussion that led to my movement to the APC. He’s my friend and a good one at that, but was never part of the discussion that led to my movement. I heeded the call of our people to move to the centre just like our father late Nnamdi Azikiwe did.”
It will be recalled that Fani-Kayode while rationalizing why he joined the APC on a live television program yesterday had boasted that he was instrumental to the movement of three PDP governors to the APC.
