Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Alhaji Tunde Balogun, has been sacked.
Authoritative source told Newsnowonline that Balogun has been asked to go because of allegations of bribery and corruption in the last local government election.
Apart from the Lead Convener of Lagos4Lagos, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran also known as Jandor who accused him of corruption during the last local government election, Balogun is said to have disregarded some of the decisions reached at the level of the Governors Advisory Council, GAC.
It will be recalled that Jandor has called out Balogun after the council election that he should step down.
From Itire/Ikate to Apapa, Alimosho, Amuwo/Odofin and Epe, it was a tale of woes as some former chairmen accused Balogun of corruption and high handedness. In fact, there are several litigations Against the Party by the opposition political parties and some APC stalwarts because of Balogun’s act of impunity.
Indication that he’s no longer needed emerged yesterday when he started moving his personal belongings from the Acme Road Headquarters of the APC.
He was alleged to have been snubbed by the former governor of Lagos state and national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, when he( Balogun) requested for an audience with him.
The emergency meeting that’s on as at the time of filling this report is deliberating on the consensus candidate to replace Balogun at the State congress slated for Saturday, October 16, 2021.
