Why I Apologized For Supporting Buhari In 2015–Momodu…. Speaks On 2023 Presidential Ambition

Former presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party, NCP, Aare Dele Momodu, has said he chose to apologize to Nigerians for supporting President Muhammadu Buhari In 2015 who has now turned to be worst than former President Goodluck Jonathan.

  • Speaking on a current affairs program, The Morning Show, on Arise Television, monitored in Lagos on Monday, Momodu said he’s offering himself now so that people won’t complain that credible and those with genuine intentions do not come out to contest in 2023.

Momodu explains that what has been the bane of the country is about poor leadership.

“Those who have not managed any worthwhile venture before and you are giving Nigeria to manage, it’s not going to work.

“We thought we have seen the worst under Goodluck Jonathan, we never knew it would be this bad.

“That’s one thing about democracy, it will not guarantee that the next man will be better.

“I was not a member of the APC In 2014/15 when I supported Buhari and I have seen apologized for supporting him in 2015.

When I saw that the case of Buhari was irredeemable, I chose to support Atiku that was presented by PDP in 2019. I was also not a member of the PDP then.

“I can tell you that there’s nobody in politics today that was ahead of me. In 1983 when I was 23, I was the Private Secretary of Chief Akin Omoboriowo, The then Deputy Governor of Old Ondo state.

Shortly, thereafter, I managed late Ooni Okunade Sijuade’s Hotel.

“In 1998/99, I was supporting Chief Olu Falae Against Chief Obasanjo, a Retired General. I advised Chief Falae then to chose a highly cerebral person as deputy and I suggested to him Dr. Rilwan Lukman. “I thought Chief Falae will be better. I traveled to Vienna to meet Dr. Lukman and told him about my mission. He laughed and said it’s not possible. And he said  the owner of Nigeria has already decided on Obasanjo.” He said.
