Former governor of Abia state and senate chief whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has accused unnamed people in Nigeria for being behind his ordeal.
Kalu says they put him in prison for six months without committing any crime.
Speaking on current affairs program on Arise tv, The Morning Show, monitored in Lagos on Thursday, Kalu said he wouldn’t want to mention the name of his accusers because people already know them.
On why he hasn’t gone to meet President Muhammadu Buhari to declare his presidential ambition, Kalu said without the All Progressives Congress, APC, convention zoning the presidency to the south, it will be too early and hasty to inform the President.
He said, “ Those who are jealous of me put me in prison for six months. They said how can he be wealthy and also have power. Those who want to be president explored our judicial system to attack me.”
On the Seven billion charge preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Kalu said it was a witch-hunt.
“ 19 witnesses were called by the EFCC and none of them mentioned my name is their evidences. It’s unfortunate that some people manipulate the court to jail me for six months.” He said.
He, however , said he would be meeting Buhari very soon not to discuss the issue of presidency, but the issue of insecurity in the south east, north west and the north east in order to proffer solution.
