2023:Over 163 Groups Working For Osinbajo—Ajulo
A legal practitioner, Kayode Ajulo, has insisted that Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will contest the 2023 presidential election despite having not declared like other aspirants.
Ajulo said over 163 groups of different professionals and interest groups are rooting for him.
Speaking on a current affairs program, Politics Today, monitored on Channels Television on Wednesday, Ajulo maintains that he (Osinbajo) ought to be given the offer of first refusal being the sitting Vice President.
Reacting to an All Progressives Congress chieftain, Mr. Daniel Bwala who opined that the Vice President ought not to contest against his former principal and former governor of Lagos state, Mr. Bola Tinubu, Ajulo said it’s uncharitable to say so.
On why Osinbajo hasn’t declared, Ajulo said he doesn’t want to be distracted because of the work he’s doing around the country to ensure that Nigeria works.
“Most of those who have declared to contest are jobless, they have nothing to do unlike Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who is working round the clock to ensure that things work out fine.
“I can assure you, immediately Osinbajo declares, the level will change.
“It will be uncharitable to say that because someone has been his benefactor in the past so he shouldn’t contest.
“In 2004, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu sponsored my wedding in Lagos, but we need someone that has capacity.
“Nobody can say President Muhammadu Buhari is not a good leader, but it was the illness that defines his presidency. Are we going to have another Buhari?
“I doubt if there’s anyone that can stand up to him professionally, Health wise and even integrity wise.
“He’s articulate and that’s why many professionals are rooting for him.” He said.
