Lagos Begins Probe Of Petrol Souvenir At Party As Police Seal Up Havillah Event Centre
The Lagos State Government has begun the probe of Petrol souvenirs at an Owambe party in Lagos.
The Lagos police command has moved swiftly to seal up the Havillah Event Centre, Oniru, the venue of the party for contravening the extant Law.
This is sequel to the Lagos State Government directive to probe the indiscretion of the host in order to avert the fire incident such act might precipitated.
Gbenga Omotoso, Lagos state Commissioner for information and Strategy in a statement at the weekend said the action is dangerous and can lead to loss of lives and property. It is blatantly against all safety measures in such places.
“The Lagos State Government through the Safety Commission is investigating this matter and will ensure that all parties to this reprehensible action are made to account for it.
“The safety of lives and properties of Lagosians and visitors remain a top priority to the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration. We, therefore , advise that actions that can lead to loss of lives and properties be avoided.” The statement said.
It would be recalled that 5 litres of petrol were shared to guests at the Owambe party in Lagos recently as shown in a viral video.
