Revealed: Why APC Emergency NEC Meeting May Not Hold On Thursday 

 ……INEC Raises Issue Of Non Compliance With Section 82(1) Of 2022 Electoral Act 

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has written the All Progressives Congress that it contravenes some sections of the Electoral Act 2022 as amended as regards its emergency National Executive Committee meeting slated for Thursday, 17 March 2022.

Secretary of the INEC, Mrs Rose Onaran-Anthony raised the issue of compliance with section 82(1) of 2022 Electoral Act which stipulates a 21-day notice.

The commission also raised the issue that the letter notifying INEC about the NEC meeting was inchoate as it was not signed by the chairman and the secretary of the CECPC.

This may  have raised another constitutional issue that may affect the holding of the NEC meeting where some far reaching decisions about the March 26 convention will be taken.
