Exclusive! APC Declares Aregbesola ‘Person Non Grata’ In Osun…Excludes Him From Oyetola’s Re-Election Campaign Committee
Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has been declared person non grata in Osun All Progressives Congress, APC.
A high powered campaign committee released by the APC National Headquarters yesterday excluded the former governor of Osun State despite being in charge of a sensitive ministry.
Aregbesola’s name is conspicuously missing from the 86 -man list.
The campaign committee will be sworn -in tomorrow to oversee the re-election of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
He has also been relieved of all his political relevance in Lagos shortly after his outburst against Asiwaju Bola Tinubu In Ilesa that he’s praying to god to bring the APC National Leader down.
The campaign committee to be led by governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is to be co-chaired by Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Though, Aregbesola was the first to congratulate Tinubu after his emergence as the APC presidential candidate at the Eagle Square, the import of his outburst in Ilesa and subsequent mobilization against the re-election of Tinubu’s cousin, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola is not lost on the Tinubu’s group.
Impeccable source revealed to Newsnowonline that though, Tinubu group did not want to raise any issue about Aregbesola’s attempt to stage a comeback to the fold , but he’s being handled with care. You can see that most of his trusted aides are now working for the People’s Democratic Party. One of his former Commissioners, Kolapo Alimi has even joined the Senator Ademola Adeleke Campaign team as Deputy Director General. What does that tells you? That Aregbesola can no longer be trusted. “Apart from what he did in 2018 when he lost virtually all the local governments in Ijesaland, his outburst in Ilesa is enough for Asiwaju to distance himself from him.For now, Aregbesola has become a political orphan with nowhere to go after 2023”. He said.
It will be recalled that Aregbesola is the leader of a group known as The Osun Progressives, TOP, with sole aim of stopping Oyetola’s re-election.
