Osun 2022: O-Widows Ratifies Ogunbiyi, Urges Indigenes To Vote For Him
A group of widows, known as O-widow (Aanularigba) has threw its weight behind the ambition of Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, noting that he is the only candidate who has the ability to turn things around in Osun state.
The group in a letter to the Accord Governorship Candidate and signed by three of its executive members Mrs. Modupe Olawumi-Oyewole (Leader), Mrs. Oladunmomi Oseni (Secretary) and Mrs. Taibat Kasali (Public Relation Officer) said Ogunbiyi’s manifesto clearly paved ways for good governance.
According to O-widows, many of their late husbands were retirees who were not paid their entitlements until deaths, leaving them lonely and wallowing in abject poverty.
The group said, apart from the fact that they had to carry family burdens alone, several of them are also nursing life threatening illnesses and need to be supported by good Samaritans.
“We have carefully studied the manifesto of all the candidates and we can see clearly that it is only the Accord candidate has something good to offer our women.
“Two of these programmes was the plan to give women free interest free loans and the plan to pay gratuities of all retired public servants between six and nine months.
“For this reason, all of us, about 1,500 of our members across the state and members of our families are in one accord to vote for Accord. We are also mobilising across the state as well and we are sure Dr. Ogunbiyi will win the election”, parts of the letter read.
O-widow vowed they will resist and pray against anyone who plan to cause trouble during the election and advised indigenes to shun “blood money” to be distributed by some politicians before and during the election.
