2022: Islamic Group Drums Support For Ogunbiyi, Kunle Jimoh
An Islamic organisation known as Hasibunallahu has endorsed the candidates of Accord in the Saturday governorship election, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi and his deputy, Alhaji Kunle Jimoh. Besides, the alumni association of University of Nigeria (UNN) Nsukka has sent a solidarity message to Ogunbiyi and Jimoh pledging their unalloyed support in the forthcoming polls. Hasibunallahu in a statement signed by Alhaji Jimoh Olawale, the Chairman and Amir of the group noted that its members have resolved to vote for the duo.
The statement reads, “We, the members of Hasibunallahu prayer group at home and in diaspora have resolved to back the gubernatorial ambition of Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi and his Deputy Governorship candidate, Imam Mikhail Kunle Jimoh.
“We pledge our unflinching support towards their aspiration and have resolved to vote for them overwhelmingly on 16th July, 2022”, the group said.
In a statement signed by the President and Secretary of the Osun State Chapter of UNN alumni association Mr. Ogunbamiwo Henry and Chief Adegoke A O, the group said the decision to support Accord was taken at its meeting of Monday, July 4th, 2022 after a critical analysis of the ongoing electioneering campaigns in the state.
According to the association, the party’s deputy governorship candidate was a staunch member of the association in Osun and a member of the National Publicity committee Alhaji Kunle according to the group “is an asset , humble, honest, trustworthy, reliable and a good material to lifting Osun up from the decadence our past leaders had plunged the state into.
“All members of the UNNA family in the state should ensure adequate mobilisation of the citizens of the state and ensure they vote for our dear Lion.
“The National Leadership of UNAA under our amiable Lioness Chief Dr Linda Uchochi Agua-Onyekwelu had directed all UNNA members to ensure the victory of Lion Kunle Jimoh. “
The meeting also expressed their appreciation to the leadership of Accord and her teeming members in the state for the trust and belief in the capacity of Alhaji Kunle Jimoh as the party’s Deputy Governorship candidate in the coming election”, the association added.
