ODCF Rejoices With Onjo Of Okeho …. Mourns Aseyin
The umbrella body for Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, Oke ogun Development Consultative Forum (ODCF) has rejoiced with Onjo of Okeho, Oba AbdulRafiu Mustapha Osuolale Adeitain II for recovering from his recent health challenge.
The body deemed it fit to join the monarch in thanking God for his survival in view of the news of his death that went viral early this week.
In a statement signed by the body’s President, Dr. Segun Ajuwon and the publicity secretary, Jare Ajayi, ODCF stated that Oke ogun has not recovered from the shock of the demise of Aseyin, Oba Abdulganiyu Dr. Abdganiy Salawudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi Ajinese 1 who joined his ancestors last month.
“It would therefore be too much for us to, within a space of just about two weeks, lose another important Oba in our area”.
The body expressed its profound condolence to the Aseyin family, Iseyin people, Oke ogun and Oyo State Council of Obas on the demise of Aseyin.
Recalling a lot of developmental strides that took place in Iseyin under the reign of the late Aseyin, ODCF stated that the monarch would be greatly missed but took consolation in the fact that he will continue to be remembered for good.
The umbrella body prayed for longer and healthy lives for “our Obas, our leaders and our people generally as we make collective efforts at developing our area”.
It would be recalled that the 28th Aseyin died on Sunday, July 25, 2022 at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, where he was receiving treatment. He was 62.
He ascended the throne in 2006. Oba Salawudeen who was the Chairman, Conference of Oke-Ogun Traditional Rulers studied Veterinary Medicine at the University of Ibadan and was practicing as a veterinary doctor before ascending the throne.
“He was vibrant and energetic. He was courageous yet peace-loving. Iseyin and indeed Oke-ogun meant so much to him. That is why we will not forget him” the release stated.
Some of the new things that took place in Iseyin during the reign of the late monarch were the dualisation of Iseyin township road, reconstruction of Ibadan-Iseyin road, siting of LAUTECH’s College of Agriculture and Renewable Natural Resources in Iseyin as well as the Oyo-Iseyin road that is being reconstructed, to mention a few. He was also a rallying point for the monarchs in Oke-ogun.
While rounding off, Oke-ogun Development Consultative Forum (ODCF) again prayed for longevity for Oba Mustapha, Onjo of Okeho, other obas in Oke ogun and an enhanced welfare for the people of the region.
