Again, Another Seven-Storey Building Collapses, Six Workers Trapped
Like a recurring decimal, another building has reportedly collapsed in the upscale area of Lekki in Lagos.
No fewer than six construction workers have been allegedly trapped in the collapsed building.
The building is said to be an uncompleted seven-storey building.
The incident occurred at Oba Idowu Oniru Street by Avi Maria hospital close to sand field bus stop in the Lekki area of the state.
According to the Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, “Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, an uncompleted 7-story building undergoing construction was found to have collapsed.
“No injury was sustained however about six people are reported to be trapped under the rubbles of the collapsed structure.”
Rescue operations are said to be ongoing to save the trapped victims.
It is however unclear how the permanent secretary ascertained that no injuries when trapped workers are yet to be rescued.
