In Kebbi, INEC Returning Officer Absconds, Whereabouts Unknown

The returning Officer for Kebbi Central Constituency of Kebbi State Senatorial election, is alleged to be missing thereby holding INEC to Ransome from declaring the result released this morning Monday 27th February as promised by the INEC in the State.
Information at the disposal of newsmen indicated that Birnin Kebbi LG returning officer and the election results of the entire LG are missing. However a reliable sources said since around 2pm yesterday (Sunday) collation team are waiting for the returning officer and the results, but was yet to come and present his result and it is the only LG holding the conclusion of collation process and declare the winner of Kebbi Central senatorial seat.
The results in-question is between Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero and so far seven LGAs results were collected out of Eight LGAS, political parties are worries over where about of the returning officer and the results. Again INEC officials could not account his where about.
Sources further expressed worried because for over 12 hours waiting to see the returning officer or the election results and up to the time of filing this report the said person in question could not been seen.
The Political parties returning agents made an inquire of the way forward and possible solution to the issue in question, but they were asked to keep waiting by the team leader of the said collation Center at Birnin Kebbi LG INEC office.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the State, Mahmoud Ahmad Bello when contacted said he is not aware of this, but promised to get in touch with the Electoral Officer (E.O) in charge of the Local office of the Commission.
