I Declared Ado Dogunwa Winner Under Duress- INEC Returning Officer

The Independent National Electoral Commission Returning Officer of the Tunda Wada/Dogunwa federal constituency in Kano, Prof Ibrahim Yakassi, has said that he declared the APC majority leader, Ado Dogunwa winner under duress.

Prof Yakassi in a letter to the Kano Resident Electoral Commissioner, said Ado Dogunwa threatened to burn down INEC office and kill all the INEC officials if they fail to declare him winner within an hour.

The university don said in the letter that in order not to preserve his life and other INEC officials with him, he had to declare Dogunwa winner because of the tense atmosphere.
