Fear Of Violent Protest: No Sunday Service Tomorrow, Okotie Tells Householders
Senior Pastor of Household of God Church, Oregun, Rev Chris Okotie, has told his congregation that there will not be Church service tomorrow.
Okotie’s precautionary measures to worshippers is borne out of fear of violent protest tomorrow.
A source close to Rev Okotie said all the heads of departments have been notified and have communicated same to members through the necessary channel that there won’t be service tomorrow.
This may not be unconnected to the tweet by the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who based on reports of widespread voters intimidation and suppression across the state warned that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the security agencies may set Lagos on fire if they continued in an alleged partisan manner.
A source close to Rev Okotie said this is not the first time the man of God will take such precautions.” After the February 25, 2023 presidential and national assembly elections, Rev Okotie, sensing that there may be breakdown of law and order the following day (Sunday) had to call off the service.” He said.
