Bawa Is Tainted, Tinubu Should Sack Him-Agbakoba
Legal luminary and human rights activist, Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, has advised President Bola Tinubu to sack the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa without further delay.
Agbakoba, who was a guest on Arise News current affairs programme, The Morning Show, monitored in Lagos on Wednesday said the only way for the fight against corruption to be meaningful is for the President to clean the Augean stable and sack all those whose services are no longer in tandem with the fight against corruption.
He deplored the methodology employed by Bawa which according to him has tainted him.
Agbakoba explained that there is need for President Tinubu to hit the ground running and can only do so by cleaning the Augean Stable first.
He said; ” The fight against corruption as personified by EFCC under Bawa is tainted. He’s always at loggerheads with people. That is not how to fight corruption, Tinubu should sack him. The last time he’s fighting with the former Zamfara State Governor, Mohammed Matawalle.”
On the critical appointment to be made at the close of work today, Agbakoba said the Attorney General is very crucial and suggested two names: the former legal adviser of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Babatunde Ogala, SAN and immediate past minister of works and housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN.
He also advised that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila will be effective as Chief of Staff, while he tipped the former governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF.
On communication, he said Mr Dele Alake will be the best as the spokesman for Tinubu, while Ajuri Ngilale will be in charge of communication.
