Customs Hands Over Large Cache Of Drugs Seized In Kebbi To NDLEA

The Customers Area Command in Kebbi State has intensify it war against smuggling in the last four weeks in the border areas of the Command which results to seizure of no fewer than 104 parcels of india hemp, 359 sacks of diazepam and 70 packs of tramadol.
According to the Controller of Customers in the State, Dr. Ben Oramalugo while addressing a press Conference stated that the press briefing was meant for Journalists to witness the handing over of the sized items to the Commander of the NDLEA because they are drugs related items.
“This Command is saddled with mainly three responsibilities which are revenue generation, suppression of smuggling and trade facilitation. This briefing is therefore to focus on our anti smuggling activities in the last four weeks and the last one week the milestone in our activities and achievements is what you have come here to see.”
He explained that based on information at about a vehicle conveying an offensive good into the Country, the Command Officers and men swing into action along Kamba/Kyangakwai road and were able to identify the the vehicle carrying the illegal concealment.
He explained further that the items seized are valued at N37.8 million.
Pointing out that apartment from the drugs seized, the Command also seized 107 bags (50kg) of foreign per boiled rice, 38 bales of second hand clothing, 1,275 liters of petrol, 52 jerry can of vegetable oil, one Honda Accord 2014 and one used People Vehicle.
The duty paid value (DPV) according to him stood at N64.65 million, he added that the success recorded so far is as a result of reliable information from reliable Nigerians, adding that the Command will be steady fast in carrying out its core mandate.
